Dave's music has given me countless guiding principles—some clear as day, others so subtle they take a thousand listens to fully grasp. This one falls into the latter category. Just five simple words answer an age-old question: Am I my brother’s keeper? The answer? Yes. The lyric?
"I will bring you water."
It follows the line, "What sort of man goes by?"—making it crystal clear that when we see someone in need, whatever their "water" may be in that moment, it is our undeniable duty to provide it.
Think of someone in your life who needs that water—maybe a kind word, a check-in, or a reminder that they’re not alone. Send them a text or make a call tonight. Then, make "bringing water" a daily habit and watch how profoundly it transforms not just their life, but yours.
